The Aberdeen Northern Hotel is ideally situated just 2 miles from Royal Aberdeen Golf Club. The hotel is only a short walk from Old Aberdeen where Kings University & St Machar Cathedral are located, and a mile from the city centre. It is also on a bus route from both Aberdeen Airport and the Train station.

The hotel was designed by a prominent local architect & built in 1939 in Art Deco style. The hotel has been awarded Category A listed status by Historic Scotland to recognize the historical significance of this iconic building to the whole country. The magnificent ballroom is an extravagant art deco masterpiece built in the shape of a violin body. Many other original features are still intact.

The hotel has 32 en suite bedrooms on 3 floors, all furnished & equipped to a high standard, with a passenger lift serving all the floors. Eleven of the en suite bathrooms have been replaced with new walk in shower rooms in 2017. The bedrooms are the usual mix of single, double, twin, family and also 2 rooms adapted for disabled guests.

Enjoy a meal in Ellingtons Bar Diner where a varied selection of dishes are prepared from fresh local produce. The Astoria Dining Room is available for private parties or functions. There is also a public bar with 4 wide screen TVs with Sky & BT sports, and a Pool Table.
