The Bear’s Head in Brereton, a little over three miles from Sandbach Golf Club,  is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Book a table online and enjoy a spot by our roaring log-fire. Or make the best of the British summertime by eating alfresco in our pretty beer garden.

Built in 1625 and originally known as The Boars Head, this inn has been serving the community of Brereton for almost four hundred years. The Bear’s Head was a popular posting house on the London to Liverpool turnpike, becoming so busy that in the 18th Century a new wing was built and a range of stables constructed on the opposite side of the road.

Our 25 bedroom Innkeeper’s Lodge continues The Bear’s Head’s tradition of welcoming travellers. It’s our local charm that attracts travellers and historians discovering the Saxon landmarks of Sandbach, as well as diners and drinkers from Brereton and nearby Arclid, Holmes Chapel and Davenport. We also welcome business and leisure travellers to enjoy some of the best bedrooms and accommodation in Cheshire.

At an Innkeeper’s Lodge we have all the ingredients for a relaxing stay. Some of the home comforts you can enjoy include free parking and a complimentary continental buffet breakfast for all guests. Our rooms are all en suite and non-smoking and there are complimentary hot drinks, a flat screen TV with Freeview and free WiFi.
