Masham Golf Club, situated in North Yorkshire, was founded in 1895. It has become renowned throughout the north for its hospitality and friendliness and is open to both members and visitors.
The attractive 9-hole golf course sits in mature parkland, with the central feature of the River Burn always a hazard to contend with. The golf course has changed considerably in the last 25 years. The current layout was last amended in 1995 with the extension of the fifth hole and creation of the new sixth. These two holes have lengthened the golf course significantly, creating a tougher test for the modern golfer. Although quite a short golf course by today’s standards, the small raised greens and tight fairways demand an accuracy, which means one mistake can ruin a good round of golf.
The clubhouse is situated next to the River Burn, which provides a beautiful setting. Masham golf course and the surrounding area has been designated “An area of outstanding natural beauty”.
