Aboukir Hotel & Bar Restaurant Angus
The Aboukir is a friendly and inviting hotel, bar and restaurant owned by local proprietors David Scorgie and Frank Ross. It is a 5 minute walk from Carnoustie High Street and is within walking distance of the famous Carnoustie Golf Course.
The name Aboukir originates from the ship HMS Aboukir which first saw service on the Mediterranean before returning to home waters in 1905. It was reared by Admiral Horatio Nelson. On September 22nd 1914 in the North Sea a single torpedo broke Aboukir in 2 and she sank within 25 minutes with the loss of 527 men in World War 1.

The Aboukir bar has a contemporary feel with a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the staff are willing to assist with any queries.
We hold poker nights every Sunday which has proved to be very successful and at the moment we are the top scoring Scottish team in the league.
Every Wednesday we have an “Aff The Cuff” folk music session and every second Thursday we hold a quiz night.

Our restaurant holds up to a maximum of 50 people, the food is locally produced and cooked to perfection.
