County Hotel Cumbria

Welcome to the County Hotel, a three-star hotel from the Cairn Group which can be found in the city centre of Carlisle, directly opposite Carlisle Rail Station.

Located on the very edge of the Lake District, Carlisle is England’s most northern city and is surrounded by stunning scenery.

Our hotel is located just three miles from Carlisle Golf Club, close to various historic sites such as Hadrian’s Wall and Carlisle Castle, as well as Bitts Park and Walby Farm Park for younger guests, making Carlisle the perfect spot for a getaway. 

Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available throughout our period property, while drivers will be happy to hear that the hotel offers secure parking, free of charge. 

The County Hotel in Carlisle offers 84 bedrooms, each fitted out to provide a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere during your stay. All of our rooms are decorated in muted colours and boast natural daylight, as well as original features and fittings. Pets are also allowed within our hotel when you book advance, making our hotel perfect for breaks with the whole family. 

Each bedroom is fully equipped with ensuite, as well as free wifi and in room tea and coffee making facilities to make your stay even more leisurely.

We provide hairdryers, televisions, telephones and writing desks in all rooms to meet all of your needs. All of our bedrooms are non-smoking. 

Our spacious restaurant is open daily for breakfast and dinner, offering a choice of a la carte or table d’hote menus, complemented by a good selection of wines and liqueurs.

Dinner is available from 6pm – 8.30pm. 

Adjacent to the restaurant the Lounge bar is the place to relax before your meal. As an alternative to the restaurant you may prefer to sample our bar menu, which features home cooked traditional fayre.

The restaurant and bar menus are also supported by a large selection of wines, beers and spirits.
