The Half Moon Inn Devon
The Half Moon Inn is a sixteenth century, Grade Two listed historic fishing inn, which dates back to 1540. Nestled in the heart of the traditional, unspoilt Devon village of Sheepwash, just 15 mins drive from Holsworth Golf Club, overlooking the Torridge Valley, our inn is located in some of the most picturesque countryside you’ll ever find.
We are perfectly situated for your golf break, there are 11 golf courses within 20 miles of the Inn.
Here at The Half Moon Inn, we have 13 rooms, located within the inn and the courtyard annex.
Rooms within the inn are in the typical sixteenth century style, with exposed beams and low windows, with one of our favourite rooms even boasting a sloping floor!
Each of our rooms is en-suite, with luxury toiletries, tea and coffee-making facilities, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi.
We have one family room available, with a cot if required.
With delicious home-cooked food and a well-stocked bar, The Half Moon Inn is well-known locally and further afield for the quality of our hospitality. We are also renowned for our links with local fishing and country sports.
The Half Moon Inn is very pet-friendly. Our annexe is perfect for those who wish to bring their dogs, providing easy access to our courtyard and parking area. Dogs are restricted to guest bedrooms and bar, and must be friendly, clean and free of ticks and fleas!
The cuisine at The Half Moon Inn is traditional, freshly-cooked and prepared from local produce. Our large and comfortable restaurant can seat up to fifty people, and we offer a wide choice of quality wines.
We pride ourselves on our friendly, yet unobtrusive service, and we are always on hand to ensure that your meal is a memorable one.
The restaurant is open to non-residents, but prior booking is essential.
With quality beers and wines from around the world, we can cater to most palates at our fireside bar with its unique atmosphere, emanating the feel of a traditional English inn.
The bar is popular with guests and locals alike, who enjoy both the friendly, cosy surroundings and informal setting.
