Burghley Park Golf Club has the unique and enviable honour of being the first golf club to open its doors to the golfing public in Lincolnshire back in 1890.
Burghley Park, by Burghley House, is now joined by dozens of clubs across the county. But while it has been joined by a host of top-class courses, including some in the last ten years or so, many still retain a soft spot for the county’s first club – and it’s easy to see why.
Burghley Park is an open parkland course with superb greens and fairways. New trees were planted a while ago and have since matured. Also coming into plays are ponds and well placed bunkers.
