Nestling on the bank of the River Ribble just south-west of Preston and some 5 miles west of M6 (J29), our 106 years old club has over the past 4 years hosted the Lancashire Seniors Open, a PGA Qualifier, the UK Corporate Games and the Lancashire Classic. This year The Lancashire Classic runs from the 3rd-6th July 2017. Monday 3rd July 2017 is day one at Penwortham Golf Club.
Our recent investment in 18 new USGA greens has contributed to a rolling parkland course of high quality with a testing par of 69. The course inspires and challenges in equal measure. It is delightfully varied, plays well throughout the year and is a firm favourite with visiting parties parties of golfers or those taking part in corporate golf days or in our popular Open Competitions.
Our Men’s, Ladies’, Seniors’ and Juniors’ Sections all offer well-established, internal competitions together with external fixtures with other Clubs in local leagues. These events and a variety of social functions help new members feel at home from the outset.
Renowned for its friendly atmosphere, our fine clubhouse has a veranda that overlooks the first tee and the eighteenth green, excellent catering facilities, well-stocked bars and attractive meeting rooms for both social and business occasions. We also have a Proshop with no less than three Professionals providing tuition and advice on technique and equipment.
