The West Lancashire Golf Club Merseyside
The West Lancashire Golf Club was founded in 1873 and is among the ten oldest golf clubs in England, and boasts one of the most natural and testing links in the British Isles.
Imaginative and varied in layout, the course has so much more to offer than simply a wonderful experience of classic links with stunning views of the Mersey Estuary, Anglesey and the Welsh Mountains.
The West Lancashire Golf Club has hosted Final Qualifying for The Open Championship when it has been played at Royal Liverpool, Royal Lytham and Royal Birkdale and will do so again in 2012 when the The Open returns to Royal Lytham.
The Club co-hosted The Amateur Championship in 2009 which was won by the Italian teenage sensation Matteo Manassero who joins an illustrious list of golfers (see History) who have played in competition on the links that are ranked among the UK’s “Top One Hundred Courses”
Our recently refurbished modern clubhouse offers state of the art facilities. In its comfortable bars, dining rooms and lounges you can relax after your round on the links and take in the spectacular views while enjoying a drink and sampling our excellent food.
At West Lancashire we are proud of our history and challenging championship links where visitors are most welcome throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming you for a round in the near future.
