Driffield Golf Club is situated in the Sunderlandwick estate which contains many beautiful trees, shrubs and wildlife. Eastburn Beck, which runs through the middle of the course, is a particular feature. The 11th hole is bounded on three sides by water hazards and is said by many visitors to be the finest in East Yorkshire.
The men’s medal tees are par 70 from 6215 yards. The ladies tees are par 72 from 5597 yards. The course is predominantly flat and is not physically demanding. Although easy to play, all 18 holes demand accuracy to achieve a low score. The course is a true test of golf for both high and low handicap players. The club is popular for corporate days and club outings. It also hosts regular East Riding and Yorkshire Union events.
The professional’s shop sells a wide range of equipment and clothing. Lessons from the professional may be booked through the shop. Buggies and hand pulled trolleys are also available for hire.
Tee reservations are not strictly necessary for the casual visitor. However, it is advisable to check with the shop on 01377-241224 before setting out that the course is not closed to visitors for members’ or representative events.
The clubhouse provides a welcoming environment for members and visitors before or after a round of golf. The dress code is smart casual.
The club bar has a wide selection of beers, wines, sprits and non-alcoholic drinks which are on sale at very competitive prices.
The club caterer provides a high standard of cooking ranging from bar snacks and sandwiches to superb formal meals.
