Welcome to the Royal Blackheath Golf Club, not only the oldest golf club in the world, but also, we believe, the friendliest. It’s something we put down to our Scottish heritage and an independence of mind. As a private members’ club, we’ve got much to be happy about. Our prime objective at Royal Blackheath is to provide the right environment for golfers of every age, gender and proficiency to flourish and enjoy this great and ancient game.

All members are encouraged to participate in the ever-growing tally of competitions and cup challenges, some of which, like the Spring Medal, date back to the 18th century.

The course at Royal Blackheath Golf Club is a natural parkland course that is suitable for all levels of golfer.

The course is a par 71, with excellent fairways and well positioned bunkers, making it a great test of your golfing prowess as confirmed by a testing slope rating of 128 when played from the back tees.

Designed by Tom Dunn in 1892, the course was added to by the great James Braid in the late 1920s. Braid was himself an incredibly successful golfer and a member of the so-called Great Triumvirate of British golfers.

In 2014, the course was updated by Ken Moodie, who has been involved at the forefront of golf course design across Europe. This brought the course up to modern standards, providing the challenging natural parkland course that we have today.
