We are one of the premier downland courses in Sussex and one of the oldest in the area, having been founded in 1906. The present course, which was rebuilt after World War II, is modern and provides a good challenge for all levels of player.
The course is some 650 feet above sea level and provides spectacular views over the South Downs to the City of Brighton & Hove to the south and east, and further afield to the cliffs of Newhaven and Seaford. To the south and west there are views of Shoreham and Worthing and a clear day brings the Isle of Wight and the Solent into view. Once you are on our course you will be unaware of the pressures of modern life, with exceptionally quiet fairways bordering actively managed farmland and downland where skylarks, pheasant, badgers and deer flourish.
The latest clubhouse was built in 1985 and provides a full range of facilities including a restaurant that affords visitors good food and views of the course and the city and coast beyond. Societies are very welcome and the Club is able to organise ‘tailor made’ Corporate golf days. A range of memberships is available and there are currently vacancies in a number of categories. Go to ‘Membership’ for details or contact the club and speak to Megan Bibby or Martin Yeates.
