Holtye Golf Club East Sussex

Holtye Golf Club East Sussex

Established in 1893, Holtye is a golf club owned and run by the members, which has a reputation for a very relaxed atmosphere and a friendly welcome to visitors. It is a highly regarded, heathland 9-hole golf course which is an extremely good test of golf, the variety of tee positions presenting a different challenge on the back nine.

The visitor’s fees represent excellent value for money and first-time visitors will not be disappointed. There is no secret that a lot of clubs are aggressively marketing their courses and advertising reduced fees and special offers, some of which make enthusiastic claims about their courses. We would like to offer the following honest observations about what we have to offer at Holtye to visitors, societies or prospective members.

We would not claim to be a ‘Championship Golf Course’ but you will do well to better your handicap on a challenging layout where the course record is only 1 under par. Par of 66 is matched by the same demanding SSS and whilst at 5325 yards we do not have a par five we have one of the toughest par fours you’ll ever play. We would not claim to be the best 9-hole course in the country, that would be a matter of personal opinion, but we doubt that there are many better.
