Bray Golf Club is a magnificent USGA-standard parkland course, set in nearly 200 acres, between Bray Head and the Sugar Loaf Mountain with magnificent views of Killiney Bay and the Wicklow Mountains. Described as “spectacular in every aspect”, Bray combines stunning scenery with a classic layout. Our course, which has been in play since June, 2003, was designed by Des Smyth (2006 Ryder Cup Vice-Captain) and Declan Brannigan and is a striking example of modern design with old style golfing values. It provides the perfect environment for all golfers.

The design strategy involved a tiered effect for the fairways, thereby negating to a large degree the effect of the sloping site on which the course was constructed. As a result a large number of the holes are relatively flat.

The course was constructed using modern construction methods and the sand based USGA specification greens provide wonderful putting surfaces all year round.

The choice of three tees on each hole provides the player with three different tests of golf. The Blue tees total 5990 metres in length, with the white measuring 5645 metres and the yellow tees 5188 metres.

Course management is essential as you plot your way around, avoiding the many bunkers and enjoying the variety of doglegs. We believe that players will particularly enjoy the five Par 3’s as well as the strong finish to the course on holes 17 and 18.
