Blair Atholl is a wonderful little course right in the heart of some beautiful Scottish countryside and not far from the gateway to the Highlands.
Inland and flat, this parkland nine-hole course was established back in 1896 and offers a memorable round of golf in wondrous surroundings.
A classic style course utilising the natural contours and landscape to the best effect that has been augmented by the later addition of several ponds crafted in local stonework. It is generally easy walking parkland with short climbs to and from a plateau, which is a prominent feature affording fine views from the clubhouse and elevated tee and green positions.
Golfers particularly appreciate the variety of the course as there is a good mix of open driving holes and shorter par fours and threes, over which accuracy is at a premium but brave shots can be well rewarded. The final par five winds up to the clubhouse with an approach played between sentinel pines to the home green.
The Blair Atholl course presents a beautifully balanced challenge to the golfer, allowing good scoring for the patient, precise player and a complete golf experience.
