Ashbourne Golf Club is located on the outskirts of Ashbourne village, a market town in County Meath. It lies within a 20 minute drive from Dublin Airport and just 40 minutes from Dublin port. Consequently, it is ideally located for golfers travelling from abroad. Designed by Ryder Cup star Des Smyth, this 18 hole parkland golf course measures 5872 metres from the championship tees and comprises a par of 71 (72 for ladies).
Not unduly long by championship standards, nevertheless Ashbourne, by virtue of its design, is truly a test for every category of golfer. Three man-made lakes complement the Broadmeadow River in a manner that sees water impact on 11 out of the 18 holes. Combine this element of the design with a multitude of trees and it is easy to see where the challenge emanates from. A full bar and catering service is available in the friendly atmosphere of the clubhouse.
