Bothwell is a mature parkland course with a long-standing reputation for excellent greens. Over the years the club has invested heavily in maintaining and improving the quality of the course to bring it to the high standards demanded by today’s golfers.
Following the building, in 2004, of the large modern, well equipped clubhouse, the course layout has been revised, with several new tee positions and some new greens, making it one of the premier golf facilities in central Scotland. You can prepare for your game by using the practice nets, chipping and putting greens adjacent to the clubhouse.
A full practice area is also available. This Scottish golf course now starts with a challenging par 5, while its signature hole is the par 3 eighth, where the front of the green is protected by a burn and a number of challenging bunkers, while the back borders closely on the out of bounds.
The finishing hole directly in front of the clubhouse is a spectacular par 5, enhanced by the pond you can see in the photograph. The sloping green is protected by well positioned bunkers and a meandering burn with its own ‘swilken bridge.
