Brookdale Golf Club Lancashire

We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to you to one of the most picturesque courses in the north of England, within 5 miles of Manchester. Within easy reach of both the M60 and M62 motorway links. The River Medlock features on six of the holes as it meanders through the course making it both challenging and interesting.

Brookdale Golf Club was founded in 1896 as Clayton Golf Club with a total membership 75, the annual subscription was £1 1s and covered 9 holes, the course record set in September that year was 36 by Mr F Butel. September 1905 the club moved to Lord Lane Failsworth and was renamed Brookdale Golf Club, Alderman Edgar Bowes driving in with a wooden shafted driver which is on display in our club house today. December 15th 1962 sees us move to our present location on Medlock road Failsworth, which when first constructed was a 12 hole course.

The newly built club house was opened by Lee Monks Captain of the Manchester and District Captains Association. The first Captain was Mr Jack Holmes who as sadly died recently. The membership increased and in 1973 Mr Holmes acquired more land and the course became the full 18 holes we have today.

Although the course can be described as undulating, buggies are available for hire, and the views have to be seen to be believed. The 12th tee gives a spectacular view of virtually all of the course. To provide facilities for good golf always have been and hopefully always will be the main objective, but there is much more to this game. So for events, meetings, functions and superb golf in a beautiful setting, join us here at Brookdale Golf Club.
