The Darren Clarke designed 18 Hole Championship Golf Course is set on 170 Acres of rolling parkland in a magnificent country setting in the famous Yeats County, Sligo. Darren has used the natural ebb and flow of the setting on the estates grounds at Castle Dargan and has embraced the land rather than imposed his design ideas upon it. The course design retains the estates majestic trees, tracts of gnarled ground and rocky seams accompanied by the ancient stone walls.
The ruins of the ancient Castle Dargan provide a calming but eerie presence on the horizon which adds to the soulful atmosphere of the resort that has everything you could ask for. The result is a quite beautiful golf course of daring beauty. Graeme Beatt is the Golf Course Superintendent at Castle Dargan & joined from Kingsbarns Golf Links two years ago. Graeme also honed his skills at such prestigious golfing venues as Scotscraig GC and Royal Melbourne Golf Club and he has turned his hand to reporting on behalf of the Royal & Ancient.
Graeme and his dedicated greens team are on the course before 6am every morning, cutting, rolling and nurturing the course daily. * Championship tees – 6800 yards, Par 72 * Latest A4 creeping bent grass for firm, fast putting surfaces * Short game practice range, practice area and putting green * Built to USGA specifications
