Duff House Royal Golf club is a beautifully manicured parkland course, a feature being the large two tiered “MacKenzie” greens. Its appearance defies its difficulty and its 6161 yards (S.S.S. 70) offers a severe but fair challenge to golfers of all abilities.

The basic design remains faithful to the principles of its designer Dr. Alister Mackenzie, who maintained that the ideal golf course should include – The greens and fairways undulating, without steep hills for the golfer to climb. A minimum of blind approach shots. The emphasis placed on natural beauty, not on artificial features.

Always an alternative route for the weaker player, yet a sufficient test for the plus-handicap player (this feeling influenced course layouts when penal designs were king). A complete absence of the annoyance caused by searching for lost balls. Course conditioning must remain consistently outstanding.
