Houghwood Golf Club Merseyside

Houghwood was constructed during 1994/5 – opened May 1996. Covers 132 acres and has panoramic views over the Lancashire Plain and the Welsh Hills. Large greens constructed to USGA specification – open 12 months of the year.

Extensive drainage infrastructure and computerised irrigation system enable play in extreme weather conditions. 35,000 new trees have been planted to expand the existing woodland and give character definition between holes. A permanent track has been built to allow use of buggies and trolleys the whole year round. A unique feature in this area. Open to visitors (regular golfers only), societies, corporate bookings welcome.

Fully licensed spike bar open every day, serving meals and snacks, excellent selection of Thwaites beers. Patio area where you can sip a Pimms and watch golfers try to make par up the 18th! Usual golf club dress code applies. Resident Golf professional available for lessons and equipment advice.
