Designed by Old Tom Morris in 1879, Ladybank is one of the premier heathland courses in the British Isles. It measures just over 6,600 from the medal tees and makes great use of its flat heathland terrain, each hole being played along an avenue of pine trees, silver birch trees and heather.

It has hosted final Open qualifying on seven occasions since 1978 when The Open Championship was played at St Andrews as well as final qualifying for the 2018 Senior Open Championship.

It has changed a little over the years, requiring the golfer to display real precision to hit the small and often contoured greens. There are a few dog-legs between the trees where tee position is everything to prevent being blocked out from hitting the green.

Ladybank Golf Club is synonymous with The Open Championship Qualifying.
One of the premier courses in the UK, it has hosted final Open qualifying on seven occasions since 1978 when The Open Championship was played at St Andrews. In 2018 and 2022 Ladybank was rewarded with final qualifying for The Senior Open Championship hosted at St Andrews and Gleneagles respectively.
