Inaugurated on 28th May 1910, the course was built on parkland and today maintains its original rolling terrain. Set in 120 acres and measuring some 6300 yds with a par of 68 off the yellow markers, Langley is a qualifying course for the Open Championship and has fulfilled this function on a number of occasions.
The golf course at Langley Park was designed by J.H.Taylor (one of the great ‘triumvirate’) who won the Open Championship on 5 occasions.
Taylor himself said ‘The ground lends itself very well to the game. I have no hesitation in saying that the course will afford an excellent test of golf’
Our normal society days are on Wednesdays and Thursdays, although there is often flexibility for societies to visit on other days.
