Enjoy traditional golf in the beautiful mountain-and-coast scenery of Lochranza at the north end of the Isle of Arran. There is no need to book; you are welcome to just turn up, pay and play golf how it used to be – all about the land and the challenge.
The parkland course was established by Lochranza villagers in 1898 and stretches along the lush undulating meadows of the glen towards the head of the sea loch. It includes four fairways that cross the mountain burn of Chalmadale Waters.Lochranza Golf Course lies in a National Scenic Area and Site of Importance for Nature Conservation. Local inhabitants include red deer and red squirrels. Look up and you may be lucky enough to see golden eagles soaring so don’t forget to bring your camera as well as your golf clubs!
At Lochranza Golf Course you can enjoy stimulating golf surrounded by stunning scenery . When you’re ready for a break, home cooking is available at the Stags Pavilion restaurant. Across the road, The Isle of Arran Distillery has a cafe, shop and offers whisky-tasting tours, whilst in the village you have more choice of refreshments at The Lochranza Hotel and the Sandwich Station.
We welcome families, well-behaved dogs and have clubs and trolleys available for hire.
