Marsden Park Golf Course is affectionatley known as the Municipal Course with a “Private Feel”. Overlooking the towns of Nelson, Colne and Brierfield and sculpured out of the natural contours of the land the semi-parkland layout course is a challenging 5,833 yard 18 hole par 70 course set in a semi-parkland layout which also offers panoramic views of the beautiful surrounding countryside dominated across the valley by Pendle Hill the home of the world famous Pendle Witches.

The 9 hole course was opened in 1969 by the Borough of Pendle and was expanded to a 18 hole course in 1974. Since October 2000 the full responsibility of the course was transferred over to the newly formed Pendle Leisure Trust.

The course is hilly with some sloping fairways and also long and downhill holes. Waterhazards in the form of streams cross most of the back 9 holes. There are some very entertaining holes on the course and the notorious “cardiac hill” is a challenge to any golfer. The 390 yard par 4 climbs up three staircases and the green is high elevated on the top of the hill.

Pendle Leisure Trust and Marsden Park Golf Club work closely together and are committed to maintaining and improving the course to the highest level and and with the help of the Head Greenkeeper and his staff are proud of the fact that the well cared fairways and greens are maintained to the highest level.
