Rishton Golf Club Lancashire

Rishton Golf Club was established in 1928 and has been responsible for providing outstanding golf and social events ever since. In the early 1980s the Department of Transport decided that it would drive the M65 through the middle of our course which had a disastrous effect on the course itself and on the membership.

Having to pull your trolley or carry your clubs down and up the motorway embankment before they built the bridge was too much like hard work for a lot of the members and some of the older members decided they would apply to other clubs. Gradually over the years, and with much hard work from staff, Directors and volunteer members, the course has been returned back to normal and made even better than before.
