The home of Stanmore Golf Club is in a pleasant secluded stretch of woodland at the back of Stanmore Church. The course can be described as a “parkland course” with a variation. Stanmore Golf Club must be accounted among the pioneers of Middlesex golf for it was formed in 1893. Its membership has always been nearly all local residents and it is still in the happiest sense a local club.
The course consists of a fairly easy par 5 (once you have hit a straight drive), four distinctly stiff par 4s of 385-445 yards, and eight somewhat easier ones of around 380 yards. Five par 3s of which 3 are notoriously difficult off the back tees.
