Thurso Golf Club is a gentle undulating Parkland course found 2 miles west of the town of Thurso. The Course has stunning views across the Pentland Firth to Dunnet Head and across to the Orkney Islands. At a length of 5828 yards with a par of 69 and an SSS of 69, it is a great holiday course.
Whilst it may appear to be easy it has a lot of tough challenges and if you stray from the generous fairways the rough is very unforgiving. Also the direction of the wind has a marked effect on the playing of the course making some holes relatively easy or particularly difficult. Visitors are very welcome and Thurso is noted for its hospitality and friendliness where you will definitely enjoy the 19th.
The Club operates an honesty box for green fees and booking is not necessary so just turn up and pay your fees and enjoy your golf. Visitors should note most weekends are for competition so the tee can be busy. The Club was founded in 1893 and was designed by Bill Stuart.
