Tiverton is considered by many to be among the best 18-hole parkland courses in the region, with spectacular views. It’s a challenge for those with high or low handicaps, with a wide variety of trees lining the fairways complementing the natural hazards. The course measures 6,346 yards from the competition tees with a par of 71, while the ladies’ course is 5,774 yards with a par of 74.

Tiverton Golf Club was established in 1932 thanks to the generosity of Sir John Amory, who donated the land for the benefit of the people of Tiverton. His wife, Lady Amory (Joyce Wethered), who was widely regarded as one of the world’s finest golfers, contributed to the present layout of the course. It was originally designed by five-times Open Champion James Braid, recognised as one of the best golf course designers of all time with more than 200 to his name, including Gleneagles.
