Warrenpoint Golf Club established in 1893, is an 18-Hole Parkland Course, situated in the Heart of County Down, six miles from the City of Newry, and is set in part of the luxurious Hall Estate which is home to the famous Narrow Water Castle, the Logo on our Club Badge.
It is renowned for its natural beauty, surrounded by the Mourne Mountains on one side and Carlingford Lough on the other.The Championship Course which measures over 6000 yards in length, is ranked as one of the top Parkland Courses in Northern Ireland. The Par of the Course is 71 and is made up of 4 Par 5 Holes, 5 Par 3 Holes and 9 Par Four Holes, and the Course record is 61 set up by Paddy Gribben in 1998.
Warrenpoint is very proud of its record over the years in producing great golfers, JW Hulme, JL Bamford, Ken Stevenson, Paddy Gribben, Ronan Rafferty, Raymond Burns, Gary McNeill, Jim Carvill have all played for Ireland at senior Level, with Ronan, Raymond and Paddy representing Ireland & Great Britain in the Walker Cup. Alison Coffey also brought great honour to the Club over the years, and this year played in the Curtis Cup in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Other Members who represented Ireland at Junior level include Ruairi McCormack, Pat Trainor, Peter O’Hagan and Dorothy Hulme.
Fourteen All-Ireland Titles have been won since 1981, the year Warrenpoint won their first All-Ireland Title. In 1987 we won Five-All Ireland Titles, a feat which is unlikely ever to be matched, and in 1989 Raymond Burns won all four Boys titles.
