Welcome to the Craig Manor Hotel owned and run by the Harwood family.

Our experience of 40 years as hoteliers in the Lake District has taught us that if guests enjoy their first visit they will return time and time again. Our aim therefore is to make all your visits as enjoyable as possible.

Craig Manor Hotel nestles on the brow of a hill overlooking Lake Windermere, Langdale Pikes and surrounding mountains in the English Lake District. Just a short stroll from the front door is the village of Bowness with its pubs, shops, cinema, restaurants, cafes and museum. Guests can walk to the lake shore from the hotel in approximately fifteen minutes. From here you may wish to take a cruise to nearby Ambleside or Lakeside.

Paisley’s Restaurant takes its name from Sir Thomas Paisley, who was the original owner of the house. He was an Admiral in the Royal Navy, and chose this beautiful site to build his retirement home in 1848.

The views from the restaurant are spectacular, overlooking Lake Windermere, the Langdale Pikes, Claife Heights and surrounding mountains. Our chef prides himself on his interesting and imaginative cuisine, mixing the best of English and Continental fayre, using where possible local produce.

Compliment your meal with a selection from our comprehensive wine list which includes the best of Classic and New World Wines. To finish, settle down in our comfortable lounge and enjoy a special coffee or a cognac.
