Lindeth Fell Country House Hotel Cumbria
Built in 1907 and mainly used as a private house, Lindeth Fell retains the atmosphere and style of a gentleman’s residence – with well-proportioned drawing rooms, stylish furnishings, original paintings and water-colours and a generous supply of books and field magazines. A wide terrace on the west side of the house overlooking Lake Windermere gives brilliant views and is a popular rendezvous for tea or cocktails on spring and summer days.
The house is run to ensure that residents receive personal attention, enjoy stylish surroundings and are offered English country house cooking at its best, in a friendly atmosphere. A dispense bar operates at all reasonable hours and is supported by an extensive wine cellar.
Comfortable lounges and the lovely oak-panelled hall are available for use by guests at all times.
Bedrooms on the lake side of the house, offer spectacular views of Lake Windermere and the majestic Lakeland mountains beyond.
The Master Rooms match the large public areas in quality and style of appointments, which are to a very high standard, with fresh flowers and fruit added daily. These rooms are considered outstanding value for money and are highly praised.
The dining-rooms extend along the lake side of the house to give diners panoramic views of the garden, Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond.
Cooking is under the supervision of Diana Kennedy and is in the modern English style, but special diets can be catered for.
Home-made soups, roast meats and English puddings are specialities from menus which offer a wide choice and are changed daily to use the finest fresh local produce.
