Formerly the home of the Pemberton family, Ramside Hall was transformed into a hotel in 1963. Whilst the tradition of friendly service, good value and a warm welcome remains, the structure is now vastly different, and Ramside is proud to be the North-East’s largest privately-owned Hotel, with golf.

The central area of the Hotel – the Old Bar and the Pemberton Suite, both extremely popular with locals – remains as the focal point. This is surrounded by twelve Conference and Banqueting Rooms catering for 2 to 400 guests, the Green Room, the Restaurant and the eighty fine Bedrooms.

Just across the car park stands our superb Golf Clubhouse, Driving Range and Golf Academy.

For staying, dining, wining, dancing, conferring, meeting, marrying, merrymaking or golfing, Ramside Hall is your natural choice.

Your comfort has been the priority in the planning of these rooms, and we’re sure you will be impressed with the facilities we have on offer. All our bedrooms are individually decorated and furnished.

Everything you would expect in a quality room is there – remote control teletext television, free in-house movies, Sky channels, radio, direct-dial telephones, hairdryers, trouser presses, fresh fruit and tea and coffee making facilities. The quality furnishings have been chosen with “Country House” standards, and the bathrooms have the same opulence.

You also have the choice of booking one of our Premier Rooms, which are larger, often with four poster beds, and have the added attraction of whirlpool baths, or – the height of luxury – our two Presidential Suites which are, quite simply, the ultimate.

The Ramside Course comprises of three loops of nine holes – The Princes, Bishops and Cathedral Courses. Each loop has its own individual features, but all blend well with each other, and allow different Courses of the Day.

The course is maturing well, and the young tree copses, protected in the first years by blue stakes, are now growing well, particularly in the more sheltered areas. With a vibrant membership, and as an increasingly popular Corporate venue, Ramside is rapidly becoming known as one of the North-East’s top courses.
