The Ken Bridge Hotel Kirkcudbrightshire
The Ken Bridge, an 11 bedroom Georgian hotel, is situated on the banks of the beautiful River Ken at the head of Loch Ken which is renowned for its good fishing and picturesque views.
The hotel is a superb centre for fishing, golfing, hill walking, cycling, bird watching, photography, field and watersports or for simply relaxing and taking in the spectacular scenery.
The Ken Bridge Hotel is a family run hotel, the owners of which have local connections reaching back through many generations. The ethos of the hotel is to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible in the most tranquil of surroundings. The hotel is noted for the fine quality of the restaurant and bar meals created using locally sourced fresh produce wherever possible.
We are unique in that because of our riverbank position, we are the only restaurant in Scotland, where crayfish can be caught straight from the water, cooked and to your table within minutes.
The hotel serves a hearty breakfast to start the day. A packed meal can be provided as an alternative. As an additional service for early risers, bird watchers, stalkers and photographers we will provide a late breakfast up until 11.30am by prior arrangement.
The hotel can accommodate coach parties for lunches, high teas and evening meals. Set in beautiful surroundings, The Ken Bridge Hotel is the ideal place for Weddings and other such celebrations. Ceremonies can be officiated on the premises by a church minister but civil ceremonies are not as yet available.
Dumfries & Galloway is a very golfer friendly place – with 29 courses to choose from!
Close to the Ken Bridge Hotel is New Galloway Golf Course, it is a superb nine hole course, with some real tests. The hotel is surrounded by many fine golfing centres – Gatehouse, Newton Stewart, Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright to name a few.
Dumfries, the regional capital, has 3 courses all with daily and guest playing facilities. Southerness, on the Solway Coast, is gaining an enviable reputation as have the many Ayrshire coastal courses and wonderful Turnberry, all less than an hour away.
The hotel has agreements with various local clubs offering a percentage off green fees.
The Ken Bridge Hotel has a well appointed traditional Bar with wooden benches, original stone walls and a natural slate floor creating a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
It has a separate Games Room leading off from the bar with superb views over the glen and river and leads out on to the patio and riverbank.
The main Dining Room created from the original coach house has similar views, a roaring log fire and many wonderful artefacts to please the eye.
In contrast to the traditional style of the original buildings, our new 52 seat Dining/Function Room has a natural wooden floor and a more modern air. The rooms are connected by double doors for ease of use and both are served by a lounge bar thus creating a completely separate unit for any size of function.
