The Porch House Gloucestershire
Located in the beautiful Cotswold town of Stow on the Wold (Stow-on-the-Wold), just 7 miles from The Wychwood Golf Club, The Porch House dates back to 947AD and was built by a Cornish Saxon Duke named Aethelmar, as a refuge on the Fosse Way. A Grade II listed building, which ranks it amongst the top 4% of protected buildings in the country, and with timbers of over a thousand years old.
We have thirteen individually designed rooms at the Porch House. From the Porch (a cosy but beautifully appointed double room) to the three feature rooms we cover most budgets.
Not all of our rooms have wardrobes and baths so please check on booking if you require any of these features.
We also have a dog friendly room and two of our rooms can be joined together to offer a ‘Family’ giving you peace of mind when staying with the Children.
Our menus are about simple yet robust cooking using the best locally sourced ingredients where possible.
Previously two buildings, there’s plenty of choice for where to sit to enjoy your meal. You can dine in the Bar, Lounge or Garden on a ‘first come, first serve basis’ but tables are only bookable in the Dining room and Conservatory.
The Parlour is a secret room which you can have exclusively for up to 12 guests.
It comes complete with a large dining table, bar on request, seating area, garden and restrooms that are completely separate to the rest of the Porch House.
We can tailor a menu around your tastes, and will do our best to accommodate any request. This private dining room is perfect for shooting parties, small family gatherings, business meetings, conferences and intimate soirees.
Hotel and dinner guests can enjoy canapés and pre-dinner drinks in the hotel’s intimate guest lounge, which also offers a roaring log fire for those cold winter nights.
We’ve carefully selected our bar range to ensure wide variety combining high quality, to suit all tastes. We have spirits, beers and wines from all over the world.
The bar is open from 11am to 11pm every day but you can pop in for a coffee from 8am.
