The Quay House : Superior Accommodation Clifden.
The interior of The Quay House has been thoughtfully decorated in a unique and quirky style with wonderful decorative details throughout which help to create a superbly relaxing and restful atmosphere in this charming Bed & Breakfast Townhouse.
There are two sitting rooms with open fires for the use of guests, comfortable furniture and a good selection of reading material, board-games, etc.
Both are perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea or a glass of wine.
The owners, Paddy and Julia Foyle, are always on hand for advice on fishing, golfing, riding, walking, swimming, sailing, dining, etc – all close by.
All of the fourteen bedrooms at The Quay House are unique and quite different from each other.
Most have period furniture and original works of art but paramount are top quality orthopaedic beds. They all have large bathrooms with both a tub and shower and most have natural light and ventilation.
There are two ground-floor bedrooms, one of which is fully wheelchair accessible as are all of our public rooms.
Twelve of the bedrooms overlook the harbour while the remaining two are spacious and attractive rooms with garden views.
Breakfast, in the bright leafy Conservatory, is the only meal served at The Quay House.
Everything is freshly prepared and cooked to order. We pride ourselves on our breakfast with a varied choice of dishes including seafood, devilled kidneys, the ‘full Irish’, locally-smoked salmon, organic porridge, free-range eggs and farm cheeses. Our famous brown bread and fruit brack are both baked daily in the AGA.
We only serve freshly-squeezed orange juice together with fresh fruits, organic muesli and yogurt.
All special dietary requirements can be looked after.
The spectacular coastal scenery of Connemara’s Golf Clubs provides the perfect setting for a challenging round of golf. 18 hole courses, 27 hole championship links or pitch and putt – everyone is catered for.
The championship links course at Ballyconneelly (Connemara Golf Club) is a 20-minute drive from The Quay House.
There are at least four other good golf courses within one hours drive. Clubs and all golf equipment can be rented.
